Making Space Invitation & Submission Extension
As a new magazine, we’re leaning on relationships - longstanding and newly emerging - to help us get the word out and amplify our call for submissions. We feel mounting momentum as we continue to receive submissions and communications from folks who are learning about the magazine and tapping in. We’re connecting with new networks and learning about more white anti-racist organizing projects. As our call for submissions was set to come to a close earlier this month, we thought, “Why stop the momentum?”
Introducing Libertroph
We wanted to take a moment to introduce ourselves. Libertroph Magazine was born from our shared desire to build a creative archive of white anti-racist practices and an index of possibilities for the future. Libertroph was founded by Alyssa and Julienne, both of whom are white, queer anti-racist organizers. Alyssa (she/they) is also a coach and facilitator and coach committed to discovering and practicing new ways of being that help us break free of dominant systems. Julienne (she/they) is an artist and storyteller with a desire to expand our capacity for imagining new futures and building networks of care and solidarity.

Co-Creation as Future-Building
As we dreamt of more effective and ambitious white anti-racist organizing spaces, we continued to find ourselves in our questions. How and where can we learn from the efforts of our white anti-racist elders and ancestors? Where can we find stories about all the ways white people are trying to redistribute wealth to Black and Indigenous people? What experiments are white people engaging with to disrupt white dominant culture? At a certain point, we decided we should create the space and trust that the stories will emerge.
